AVANI YOGA STUDIO

In 2013 I became a small business owner when I opened Avani Yoga Studio in Chester, Virginia. I did not set out to open a yoga studio. I simply hired a yoga instructor to provide one class per week for myself and a handful of neighbors. Classes were conducted at a local cardiologist's fitness room until we outgrew the space a few weeks later.

In less than six months my neighborhood yoga classes grew into a thriving business, and I established Avani Yoga Studio, LLC. Two years later the studio employed six instructors and offered 18 classes a week to over 600 students.

When my communications career required me to move to Pittsburgh, I sold the studio client list to another yoga studio owner and closed the doors in April 2015. I archived the website and closed its social media accounts. Links below provide access to PDF files capturing the studio's marketing communication pieces:

• Designed and maintained the yoga studio website including integration with MindBody, a cloud-based business management software for the wellness services industry
